WTCC…grand final!!

The weekend Monza is painted Chevrolet blue!

After the sweet double win in the race 1, where the current world champion preceded his teammate Robert Huff, distancing himself with less than half a second, followed by his eternal rival Gabriele Tarquini in a Seat Leon WTCC of the Lukoil Racing Team.

In race 2 the Cruze 1.6 turbos showed they could do even better by monopolizing the entire podium after an incredible battle that was fought on every lap, but led by the current champion Muller, followed by Menu and Huff.

A spectacular second round, at the first change the three Chevies showed how aggressive they could be, followed by Tarquini’s Seat, a delay in Huff’s braking set off a series hair-raising spins and bangs where it was precisely Tarquini to pay the price, since he could do absolutely nothing to avoid Huff and therefore damaged his Leon, ending up having to pull out of the race.

In race 2 the final fifth place should be pointed out as belonging to Stefano d’Aste on a BMW320 TC, who thus moved into the ranking reserved for Independents, pulling through at the end of a battle with Franz Engstler and Alex MacDowell who fired up the last two laps, really a great race for our pilot of the Wiechers-Sport!!

We can really say that it was a great start to the season for us and for our drivers!!!

Obviously, 1-2-3 of Chevorlet in the first race of the seventh event of the WTCC held in Donington. The 3 Cruzes were running one after the other for the whole race and maintained the same positions of the qualify; so Yvan Muller arrived first before Robert Huff and Alain Menu.

Near to the end Huff tried to reach Muller by hoping to bring him to a mistake, but in the end it was Huff himself running out of the track, because of the wet asphalt and so Huff didn’t try to attack Muller anymore.

Race 2 was won by Yvan Muller on his Chevrolet again; this opens the battle with his teammate Robert Huff, arrived 2nd again, for the worldchampionship.

Now the gap between the 2 teammates is only of 15 points - the english leads with 263 points on the alsacian with 248 points.

Between the two racers it was a very tough race; they also touched each other.

This episode costs a lot to Yvan Muller, who was penalized for the overtaking and collision on Huff and so in the next race Muller will loose 3 positions on the starting grid.

Next race will be in OSCHERSLEBEN (Germany) in the weekend of the 30-31 of July!!!!

Another triplet for Chevrolet at Oporto in race 1 of the WTCC.

The most recurrent of this race is number 3, because for the Cruze 1.6 turbo it is the third triplet of the season, three are the successes of Alain Menù, who took the lead of the race immediately from the beginning with a little advantage on his team-mates Yvan Muller and Robert Huff and so arrived first on the finish line.

In race 2 6th success for Robert Huff, so now he lengthens more and more his advantage on Muller in the championship. A brilliant race, full of surprises especially in the first positions.
