WTCC Valencia,

in the first race, it is still him — Yvan Muller and Chevrolet showing everyone who’s the leader, and with much less difficulty with respect to what he did in Monza.

Despite a small hesitation on the departure, at the first curve Muller took advantage of the inside trajectory to take over the pole position on Saturday, what Yvan called “the pole obtained with a perfect lap,” to take the lead right off in the group and quickly leave a void behind him, with more and more lead on Gabriele Tarquini’s Seat lap after lap, and taking solitary flight toward success.

Second race, 2, between the two really fast BMWs it was Alain Menù’s Cruze to put on a show , that however differently from his teammate Muller in the first race, had to sweat it out to the last meter.

The Swiss pilot, who was in the first row, was the one who started out ahead among those of Chevrolet and he was quite capable of taking advantage of this lead. When the light turned off, that also gave us the thrill of Aleksei Dudukalo’s Seat stopped at the starting line-up, it was the poleman Stefano d’Aste who took control of the operations , followed by Franz Engstler, Menù and Tom Coronel.

During the first lap, Menù immediately found the way to pass, to the German’s disadvantage, and he threw himself into a chase behind a very fast d’Aste. The Italian pilot had the merit of holding out on the veteran’s attacks up to the seventh lap, but in the end, he had to bow before the power of the Cruze. .

Two laps later, however, another coup de scène when a vehicle lost oil on the track and the first three took a spin on this, helping Coronel to recover; he then found himself in the position to take up battle once again for the victory. And it was exactly in this last passage, helped also by the better use of the BMW’s tires, that he was able to launch an attack on Menù.

The Swiss pilot resisted with all his might, and in the end, went on to take the victory in front of the Dutch driver.

The third place on the podium was Italian, with a very capable and very fast pilot, Stefano D’Aste d’Aste, who was able to defend to the finish his absolute third place and the victory among the Independents from the attacks of Norbert Michelisz and Engstler, celebrating in great style, with a “double breasted” suit approved by FA 8856-2000!!!

WTCC…grand final!!

The weekend Monza is painted Chevrolet blue!

After the sweet double win in the race 1, where the current world champion preceded his teammate Robert Huff, distancing himself with less than half a second, followed by his eternal rival Gabriele Tarquini in a Seat Leon WTCC of the Lukoil Racing Team.

In race 2 the Cruze 1.6 turbos showed they could do even better by monopolizing the entire podium after an incredible battle that was fought on every lap, but led by the current champion Muller, followed by Menu and Huff.

A spectacular second round, at the first change the three Chevies showed how aggressive they could be, followed by Tarquini’s Seat, a delay in Huff’s braking set off a series hair-raising spins and bangs where it was precisely Tarquini to pay the price, since he could do absolutely nothing to avoid Huff and therefore damaged his Leon, ending up having to pull out of the race.

In race 2 the final fifth place should be pointed out as belonging to Stefano d’Aste on a BMW320 TC, who thus moved into the ranking reserved for Independents, pulling through at the end of a battle with Franz Engstler and Alex MacDowell who fired up the last two laps, really a great race for our pilot of the Wiechers-Sport!!

We can really say that it was a great start to the season for us and for our drivers!!!

OMP and Yvan Muller WORLD CHAMPION once again!!!

An excellent double win of Robert Huff in Macao wasn’t sufficient to get his dream come true – his team mate Yvan Muller become WTCC World Champion for third time.

The two Chevrolet drivers arrived on the asian city circuit with a gap of 20 points; therefor the british driver needed quite a miracle to stop the alsacian driver on his way to become for the 3rd time world champion.

And he was quite able to make it, but he had to surrender for only 3 points.

Race 1 maintaned Robert Huff’s dream, good start from the pole position and a good handling of the race by defending his position from the attacks of Muller.

Race 2 was also leaded by Robert Huff, but a smart Yvan Muller was able to reach the 3rd place by overtaking Mehdi Bennani and Nykjaer and so win his 3rd championship!!!

A great championship, struggled in every race and gave everyone the right suspence!!!

Congratulations to all the CHEVROLET Team and also to US!!!!!!!

Race 1 is all for Alain Menù, the suisse driver of Chevrolet was able to get the best from his pole position, not being involved in all the accidents of the starting and stayed ahead at the first turn until the end of the race.

The 2 most dangerous drivers for his leadership, Yvan Muller and Robert Dahlgren, remained in the back positions since from the starting grid, the Volvo driver crashed against the wall and the championship leader went off the track a couple of rounds later and lost so some time.

At that point Menù had only to manage the advantage he built up on Robert Huff, who arrived second and become now nearer to Muller in the championship also because of the difficulties given him by Michel Nykjaer on Seat.

Race 2 is for Tom Coronel on BMW; the Chevrolet Cruzes tried in every way to scary him, but they followed him until the end of the race (Yvan Muller, Robert Huff and Alain Menù).

Particularly the championship leader stayed very close to the 320 of Coronel without being able to overtake him.

Same for Huff against his team-mate, who is now leading with 13 points more in the championship; Menù struggled against the Volvo C30 of Robert Dahlgren and had to battle for arrving in 4th position.

Next race on the weekend of the 4th and 6th of november in Shanghai for the penultimate race of the championship, where our leading drivers will battle the best they can!!!
